John Howell joined the Sarasota Herald-Tribune in 2016 as multimedia editor. He is responsible for organizing, editing and producing at-large community news and weekly business columnists for online and daily print publications. His experience includes 17 years in sports at The Hartford Courant plus stops in Indiana, Texas, and Maine. Howell is a 2012 H.F. Guggenheim Fellow at the Center for Media, Crime & Justice at John Jay College.
